Fighters don’t really have much equipment to buy. One thing that do have is mouthguards and although one can boil store bought plastic ones and bite them to mold to your teeth, apparently science has a made a much better, customizable Smarthguard. They seem cool but too expensive ($125) for me – that is until I get a chipped tooth right? This guy swears by them (He also has some interesting articles at http://www.threeharmonies.com/)

The Traveler series of novels by John Twelve Hawks is an illuminating and entertaining tale of how the NWO using data-surveillance-matrixes and violence, wealth & manipulation can control this world and eliminate their arch-rival illuminators, these individual prophet/saint/magickians that can travel to other “realms” (a.k.a. really solid astral projection).
These “Travelers” are protected by “Harlequins” – their warrior-protectors whose modern arnesal finds its center in their swords, which they love like samurai.

That being said, at Mu Ryu, we’ve made basket hilts for shinai out of the hard plastic used for “pickle barrels”. The barrels are cut with a dremel tool or shears. They offer excellent hand protection, with low weight, while the plastic can be trimmed to adjust balance. And they costs virtually nothing to make.
