"The exercising of weapons putteth away aches, griefs, and diseases, it increaseth strength and sharpeneth the wits, it giveth a perfect judgment, it expelleth melancholy, choleric, and evil conceits, it keepeth a man in breath, in perfect healthe, and long life." – George Silver (1599)

Chain Punching really utilizes the principle of the motherline and the centerline. The motherline is the body’s vertical axis. The centerline is the line created between two opponent’s motherlines. Essentially anything traveling along the centerline is the fastest as it’s the shortest distance. By chain punching, your punches travel on the centerline to attack and also act to guard you and to intercept the opponent’s attacks (see trapping hands). Also by using the elbow as a piston and the stable body as a base you can emit and flurry of force to overwhelm the opponent. It’s like getting a machine gun fist.

This isn’t quite chain punching but the speed is the same.

This is instructional.
