"The exercising of weapons putteth away aches, griefs, and diseases, it increaseth strength and sharpeneth the wits, it giveth a perfect judgment, it expelleth melancholy, choleric, and evil conceits, it keepeth a man in breath, in perfect healthe, and long life." – George Silver (1599)

How to take care of your sword?
Like this.
Advice for the lazy:
If you want to cut corners, do your first sanding without taking apart the sword by sliding sandpaper through the slats.
When a sword starts to split, use Gorilla tape to fix it. Use Gorilla tape to mod your sword as well.
When you decide to take apart the sword totally or partially, the key knot is the hitch, wrap-around knot by the guard. Do not mess with the other knots unless you know what you are doing.
